Easy College Grants & Scholarships
- For students who struggle with college essays, the Three Sentence Essay Contest may help mitigate your stress. The Three Sentence Essay Contest is a weekly scholarship contest offered by Zinch.com to students who prefer a quick and easy method of obtaining money for school. As of 2011, weekly scholarship awards are $1,000. High school, college and international students are eligible to apply. Applications are available online only.
- A GPA may be needed to get you into college, but it is not required to apply for the Cappex "GPA Isn't Everything" Scholarship. In fact, the "GPA Isn't Everything" Scholarship doesn't require applicants do much outside of complete a profile with the website. As of 2011, award amounts are $1,000 each. An award is given each academic year to a student enrolled in an accredited college or university. Winners must send a personal photo upon acceptance to Cappex for publicity.
- Outside of demonstrating financial need, applicants need only submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid to receive a Pell grant. However, applications must be submitted on time or students will receive a reduced grant, if funds are still available. As of 2011, the maximum Pell grant award is $5,500. The amount of each grant varies per student according to financial need. "Financial need is determined by the U.S. Department of Education using a standard formula, established by Congress," states the U.S. Department of Education. The Pell grant is a renewable grant as long as a student qualifies. Grants can be used at a U.S. Department of Education-approved college or university.
- Students who literally rise above their classmates can apply to receive the Tall Clubs International scholarship. As of 2011, the scholarship awards women taller than 5 feet 10 inches and men 6 feet 2 inches with $1,000 toward the cost of college. To qualify, applicants must be under the age of 21 and planning to attend their first year of college. Scholarships applications are available through local Tall Clubs International groups only.
