Colorado Fall Leaves Pictures
The time of year that this transformation takes place in Colorado is usually around the middle to the end of September. The key to finding where and when the best pictures can be taken is in locating where the forests of Aspen trees are.
My love affair with Colorado began about 30 years ago. At that time I was given an assignment to teach tennis in Keystone Colorado during the summer. My next assigned location at the end of the summer was to teach in Scottsdale Arizona. It is still hard to forget the memory I have of a valley in Colorado that I saw on my way down to Arizona as I travelled in my car… The whole valley below the road looked like it was on fire with the glow of the afternoon sun shining through the leaves of a multitude of Aspen trees. It was at that time that I made a promise to myself that I would certainly come back to Colorado to live here one day.
It took me 30 years to get back here, but now I am "home"!! I have travelled to other very beautiful places during those 30 years and taken pictures of some amazing sights. What separates Colorado from any other place I have been is that the seasonal changes go on all year long. Colorado just seems to me to be the best place to capture beautiful landscape photgraphs on a year-round basis.
You might remember the words from a song by John Denver where he sang; "Fire raining down from the skies". I thought he was being a little "mystical" with these words when I first heard that song. The thing is, after living here now for just a year, I have actually seen this effect occur when rain is coming down from clouds in the distance during a sunset! Some of the words in his songs also refer to Fall colors.sn
To capture the best photos of scenery like this, I would suggest having a very good digital camera and a macro-zoom lens. With a little luck, you may be able to capture a picture of snow on Aspen trees. I was able to get some pictures of this very thing last year around September.
Here is a sample picture from my album that you will see:Â
Keep an eye out for some of my photographs on the web. I must warn you that you may fall in love with Colorado and make plans to move here some day also.
