Find a small plastic or glass bottle, or vial. Try to use a container that is portable and can fit in your purse. The container should have a tight lid and be 2 ounces or less. You can use a larger bottle to mix your lip plumper in and then transfer a smaller portion to carry around with you. You can also use a used up lip gloss, but if you do, make sure it has been cleaned thoroughly.

Fill the bottle with either Pure Jojoba Oil or 100% Pure Vegetable Glycerin. You can get both of these oils at health food stores or online. They are both humectants, which means that they attract moisture. They not only moisturize, but also work to soothe any irritation you may have from the plumping ingredient.

Add a very small amount of the natural lip plumper to the humectant. If you are using a 2 ounce bottle you should put only 1 to 2 drops. For larger bottles add increased amounts proportional to the size of the bottle. Natural lip plumpers work like synthetic ones do, by slightly irritating your lip and causing it to swell. Two of the best natural essential oils to use for this, are cinnamon and peppermint. You could also substitute wintergreen, menthol or ginger.

If you feel serious discomfort, then you have too much of the essential oil and you should rinse your lips off with cold water immediately, and dilute your mixture with more Jojoba Oil or Glycerin.
