How to Make Your Own Shirt Design
- 1). Think about what you want your T-shirt to say, or the image that you would like to portray. Search online for clip art that reflects the style you are looking to create. If you want a goth design, search goth websites for T-shirt looks that would be like what you want to create. Select your clip art and copy it to your word processing software.
- 2). Now that you have selected your clip art, would you like to add any text to it? If so, add a text box under your clip art and add the wording that you have selected. Remember to use the formatting buttons in your word processing software to make the text match your clip art.
- 3). Print a test run of your created image onto a blank sheet of white paper. Make sure it will fit onto your t-shirt. Remember that your image will be printed "backward" so you need to "flip" or "reverse" your image with your word processing software before you print it onto your iron on transfer paper.
- 4). Use scissors to cut the edges off of the iron on transfer. You want about a quarter-inch of border around your image.
- 5). Iron your image onto your T-shirt using an iron. Make sure to go slowly and firmly and not to burn the T-shirt in the process.
