How to Dye Hair Roots Only
- 1). Put on old clothes and a pair of plastic gloves to protect your skin and hands from the chemicals and the dye stains.
- 2). Combine the hair color with the developer in the application bottle. Screw the top on tightly, and shake the bottle to thoroughly combine the dye ingredients. Pour the contents into a small bowl.
- 3). Part your hair on the right side of your head, above your ear.
- 4). Dip your paint brush into the dye, and paint along the part. Paint an inch in from either side of the part.
- 5). Make a part on the right side of your head, between the top of your head and the previous part. Repeat step 4.
- 6). Continue to make parts in the top, left side and lower left side (by your ear) of your head, and paint your roots along those parts.
- 7). Leave the color on for the time recommended by the dye maker, then rinse without shampoo until the water runs clear.
- 8). Condition your hair with the color conditioner that comes with the dye. This will keep your hair healthy and strong.
