How Does Mystic Tan Work?
- The skin should be clean and free of all clothing and jewelry. This is the time where the skin is prepped for the tanning process. You must also prepare with lip balm, eye goggles and nose filters. A cap should be worn to protect your hair. Barrier cream is added to your hands, nail cuticles and feet to ensure a natural, even look.
- Stepping into the booth, the hand sensors start the tanning once they are activated by you. Once inside the booth, you back onto a designated tan plate. Standing feet shoulder width apart, keep your arms and hands splayed to ensure even coverage. After 60 seconds, the spray stops, completing the front side of your body, and the process is repeated on the other side of the body.
- Once tanning is complete, you towel off the excess tanning solution. Very carefully use a paper towel to remove the goggles, nose filters and any caps from the body. Paper towels are also used to remove the barrier cream. You must then wait four hours before showering and swimming to ensure the tan will stick.
- Often tanning salons will sell lotions and exfoliating products specifically for tanners. These products maintain and even enhance the quality of the tan. Ideally you will use tanning moisturizer the same day as the tan (after four hours) to ensure that your skin does not dry out.
