How to Dress for Christmas Dinner
- 1). Wear comfortable shoes. If there is a chance you're going to be standing and socializing quite a bit before and after dinner, consider wearing shoes that won't hurt your feet after 20 minutes. Also, if you feel you may be extremely full from dinner, having to walk in uncomfortable shoes will make the discomfort that much worse. Consider wearing ballet flats, kitten heels or high heels that are comfy. In addition, make sure to break your shoes in before wearing them to avoid any pain.
- 2). Avoid wearing anything too restricting around your middle. Chances are you are going to feel stuffed from Christmas dinner, so wearing anything restricting could make you feel pained and uncomfortable. In addition, a restricting outfit won't look flattering after being bloated from a big meal.
- 3). Leave your hair pinned back away from your face. You're going to be leaning over to eat and conversing with other people, so hair being in your eyes could be a big nuisance if you have to keep pushing it out of the way. Consider keeping your hair to the side and out of eyes.
- 4). Wear a top that has the proper-sized sleeves. If you are sitting next to someone, big flowy sleeves could end up getting in their way of eating. In addition, when you are trying to eat, flowy sleeves or sleeves that are too long can end up getting in your food. They could end up getting stained, especially with all of the rich foods that people usually eat during Christmas dinner.
