11 Top Sneaker Options for Women in 2014

106 7
The world of sneakers is dominated by men's styles, but of course, there are also plenty of female sneakerheads out there, too. With most of the attention given to men's shoes on all of the major sneaker blogs, it can often be hard for the ladies to keep track of all the great sneaker releases for themselves. The year is not even half over, and there has already been a plethora of great releases for the female sneaker connoisseurs—many of which have not even been covered by most of the sneaker blogs. That said, let’s take a look at some of the best casual footwear options available right now. Keep in mind that I picked one of my favorite colorways for each shoe, but in most cases, there are other color options available now and throughout the year.

adidas ZX 500 ‘Black Snake’

adidas Originals outfits the classic ZX 500 runner in a sleek and stylish faux snakeskin upper. There are definitely quite a few guys out there that wish these released in men’s sizing!

ASICS Gel Saga “Valentine’s Day"

This year the ASICS retro department created a special “Lovers and Haters” pack for the ladies, containing this red suede “Lovers” Gel Saga and a black and red “Haters” Gel-Lyte III. Both are great, but I think the Lovers pair edges out the Haters. And isn’t that the way it should be?

New Balance 501 ‘Mint’

This minty fresh pair of New Balance 501’s offers a clean and retro, yet modern look. Not feeling the mint? Zappos has a few other color choices in stock right now.

Nike Dunk Sky Hi – ‘Black/Sail’

The wedge sneaker definitely has some big fans, but other ladies won’t touch them with a ten foot pole. If your opinion is the former, this simple black and off-white suede and mesh version is one you can’t really go wrong with. Prefer a little more color? Browse a wide selection of options online at Nike Store.

Nike Air Huarache ‘White/Black/Bright Magenta’

A classic early 90’s runner for the ladies comes in the form of this all-new look for the Air Huarache, the iconic silhouette that originally released in 1992. This colorway actually dropped in January, but it’s the perfect spring and summer time retro runner.

Nike Roshe Run ‘Black/Anthracite/Arctic Green’

The Roshe Run is one of Nike Sportswear’s most popular models for men and women, both. For the lady sneakerhead that likes her kicks on the dark side, this all black pair of Roshes—with just a touch of minty ‘Arctic Green’ is a sleek and super comfortable option.

Nike Roshe Run Hyperfuse ‘Laser Crimson’

This iteration of the Roshe Run utilizes Hyperfuse technology for an even lighter upper and slightly different look than the original Roshe. This vibrant Laser Crimson colorway gives the Roshe its most eye-catching look, across all variations of the already-classic silhouette.

Liberty x Nike Sportswear Spring '14 Collection

This spring, Liberty Fabric Company of London and Nike Sportswear teamed up again for another collection combining the long-time fabric makers’ beautiful prints and classic Nike silhouettes. This latest collection features the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, Roshe Run, Blazer, Dunk Sky Hi and Internationalist in a number of Liberty’s archival patterns for classy and unique looks.

Reebok Freestyle Vintage Pack

This spring, Reebok Classic drops a pack of the iconic Freestyle in five vintage-inspired colorways. Paying tribute to the shoe that put the brand on the map during the aerobics boom of the 1980’s, the Freestyle returns looking as good as ever in green, yellow, navy, red and white colorways. Let’s get physical!

Vans Authentic Low Pro Floral

No girl ever looks bad in Vans. Here is a nice spring look for the timeless Authentic model featuring a fun bouquet of color.

Vans Sk8-Hi Slim ASPCA “Puppies”

Not only do you get an awesome pair of the Sk8-Hi Slim with an adorable puppy print, you help out the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A win-win situation!
