How to Install an HP 4000 Printer PCL6 Driver
- 1). Launch your Web browser and visit the HP Support site's Support and Drivers section.
- 2). Type "LaserJet 4000" in the "Device Model" text box and click "Enter" to search for your product. Click "HP LaserJet 4000" from the list of results.
- 3). Select your operating system and version from the list provided. HP had drivers for various Windows and Mac operating systems as well as Linux. Be sure to properly select whether you have a 32- or 64-bit system. A list of downloads appears after you make your selection.
- 4). Scroll down to the Driver section and click "Download" where it appears next to "HP Universal Print Driver PCL6." Save the file to your desktop when prompted.
- 5). Double-click the downloaded file. Select "When Done Unzipping Open Install.exe" and click "Unzip." Click "Yes" to agree to the license agreement when the installation utility launches. Select "Traditional Mode" and click "Install" to install the driver on your computer. Click "Finish" when the installation is complete.
