Homemade Deodorant
- 1). Place a 1/2 cup of cornstarch and 1/2 cup of baking soda into a covered glass jar. The cornstarch is naturally moisture absorbent, and the baking soda neutralizes odor.
- 2). Shake the jar to mix the two ingredients together.
- 3). Add a few drops of antibacterial essential oils. Personalize the scent of the deodorant with your choice of oil and the amount you add to the mixture. Stir the mixture and cover.
- 4). Apply to your underarms with a damp natural sponge or cotton ball.
- 1). Mix together 2 teaspoons of zinc-oxide powder and 2/3 cup of witch hazel extract. Witch hazel is a mild astringent, constricts pores and absorbs oil. Zinc-oxide will neutralize body odor.
- 2). Add in 2 tablespoons of liquid aloe vera. Aloe vera will add healing and moisturizing properties to the deodorant. It is also cooling.
- 3). Complete the mixture with 20 to 30 drops of essential oils. Personalize the mixture with the scent you like best. Many essential oils are antibacterial.
- 4). Pour into a dark spray glass bottle. Spritz your underarms as needed. Shake to thoroughly mix the ingredients prior to application.
