Root cellaring is a method of using the planet's naturally cool and stable temperature for storage of perishable food items. As per the authors Mike and Nancy Bubel, it is a no-cost, low-technology technique of keeping harvest fresh for the entire year. Interestingly, this is the first ebook which is entirely dedicated to the subject of root cellaring, which is hardly seen in practice today.

Author Mike Bubel is Polish, having grown up using several techniques mentioned in this ebook. Wife Nancy and him have practised gardening and root cellaring in Philadelphia, smaller towns and on their one acre farm in Wellsville, Pennsylvania, which is not in operation at present. Co-author Nancy Bubel has been writing gardening columns for Country Journal magazine since year 1975. She has also written for Mother Earth News, Organic Gardening, Family Circle and Woman's Day. Both have presented a wealth of experience in the ebook.
