Swimming Pool Filter Instructions
- 1). Disconnect the electrical supply to the pool pump. This will prevent any possible electrical shock while installing the filter. Unplug the unit if it's plugged into an electrical outlet. If the unit is controlled by a circuit breaker, switch the circuit breaker to the "off" position.
- 2). Place the pool filter on a level area about 2 feet from the pool pump and sidewall of the pool. The closer the filter is to the pump and pool, the more efficiently it will work. If needed, use paving stones and a leveling tool to ensure the area is level.
- 3). Attach the pump to the filter. Use a piece of pool hose if needed. Cut the hose to the appropriate length. Place one end of the pool hose on the outlet valve of the pump and the other end of the hose on the inlet valve of the pool filter. The valves are labeled. Tighten and secure the hose to the valves using hose clamps. Tighten the clamps with a flathead screwdriver.
- 4). Connect the pool filter to the pool return jet valve, located on the side of the pool. Use a piece of pool hose to connect the outlet valve on the pool filter to the return jet valve on the pool. This piece of hose should have a little bit of slack to ensure proper water flow. Tighten and secure the hose using hose clamps and the flathead screwdriver.
- 5). Restore power to the pool pump and allow the water to cycle through the pump and filter. The system is now ready for use.
