Here we go.
Do you understand affiliate marketing? What does it take to be successful as an affiliate? Most people can not answer these questions, which is a shame because this method of making money online is very powerful indeed.
The truth is that it doesn't get much easier than affiliate marketing.
You don't even really need a site to get started, skills or expertise.
These can all be leveraged.
And that is just too good a situation to pass up! What exactly is Affiliate Marketing? Being an affiliate simply means that you sell someone's product and earn a commission when you do so.
That's all there is to it.
When you become an affiliate you are associating with the product or service you will be selling.
You are leveraging from their expertise, website, reputation and salesmanship.
You must never forget that.
So, being an affiliate is simply net-speak for sales person working on commission.
OK.
But does this work?
Absolutely.
It's quite simple.
I'm not saying easy.
There are steps and actions that need to be taken but it's not rocket science.
You must still understand the PROCESS of marketing and do the work.
There is no free lunch.
Choosing the right program is half the battle.
Many come equipped with tools that can help you get a head start.
So choose wisely! The program or product has to make sense to you.
You will be much better off with a product that you at least understand.
One more thing, this product doesn't have to be your life's passion.
You don't have to be in love with it.
Just find something that you understand, something that makes sense to you! Here's a checklist I made to help you determine if the offer is right for you!You have to make sure all of these are ticked before you can safely go on and begin.
Does the product or program rub you the right way? If your passion is doll making, you probably won't do too well with car parts sites.
Stick with what you know, or at least something related (at least at first!) Do some Basic Research.
Considering whether you could talk about this at the dinner table is often a good way to start thinking "Is this for me?".
If possible try the product or service.
It has to be something you can at least talk to your friends about.
Connect with Current Affiliates Make sure there are no skeletons in the closet when it comes to how they treat affiliates.
While those who don't make money are quick to blame the program, sift through forums and do some research to determine the reputation among affiliates.
Quit going after The Quick Buck If you are jumping from program to program, chances are you will never hang around long enough to see any money come in.
Find a program you like, and work out how you can promote it.
Test different strategies.
Conversion.
So you manage to get people to click on your affiliate link.
Hooray! If the site doesn't convert then you have wasted your time.
This is something you need to look at.
Good programs will have this information available.
Anything above 3% is good.
Above 5% is great.
Sites that convert over that can be worth their weight in gold.
I have never weighed a web site but you catch my drift right?Anything over 10% is incredible bordering on suspicious.
Remember, something that converts well today because it's all the rage might not convert well tomorrow.
Try to find something that is universal and not just a passing fad.
Ongoing commissions.
A good affiliate program should pay you on other products that the customer buys in addition to the original product you sent them there to buy.
If you send Bob to a car parts dealer and he buys a set of tires, then when he comes back for hubcaps the next month, you should be recognized as the affiliate who sent him.
Help.
Support.
Most people don't know, or have the time, to write ads and create banners or graphics.
You should expect the program you join to provide these tools as well as some training on how to sell their products.
Once you have found the affiliate program and a product that suits you, you are more than half way there.
You have found a good affiliate program, the support is good, the affiliates are making money, getting paid and in good spirits.
Also, the site you are sending people to converts well.
Now, you have start sending people there! It's time to devise a marketing strategy.
