- 1). Lay the soft cloth on a flat, hard surface. Place the watch on the towel with the face side down, exposing the back of the watch.
- 2). Use the tip of the knife to go between the cover on the back of the watch and the mainframe. Some watches will have a small notch, but others do not. Gently pry the back off. Use small wiggling motions with the knife. The back will pop off into your hand.
- 3). Locate the battery inside the watch. It may have a small cover holding it down. If this is the case, move the small cover with the tweezers and then use the tweezers to remove the battery.
- 4). Replace the battery, and if there is a cover that holds the battery in place, gently move it back. Replace the back of the watch by gently pushing the back onto the watch.
