1) Capture your prospects attentions with easy to navigate pages Make sure your visitors attention is drawn to the main reason they have visited your blog post.
Most internet marketers website's/ blogs have tons of flashing affiliate banners, which distracts visitors' attention from the real reason they are there.
Another thing I see on a lot of internet marketer's sites is promoting products that have nothing to do with the website's topic.
They put large flashing banner ads promoting holidays when their website is targeted towards dating advice or losing weight, don't do this! This will only put your visitors off and they will exit your website and try somewhere else.
RULE 1 If you are in the dating niche only concentrate on that niche.
When you start promoting different products you come across as an "affiliate page" instead of an "information page".
Educate your visitors first, they will buy from you when they are ready, the more high quality information you give them the sooner they realise you are an expert in your chosen niche and your products must be of high quality (make sure your products are of the highest quality).
Promoting products that are not in your niche is very amateur and makes you come across as someone who's main reason for their website/ blog is to make money when it should be educating people so when they have finished visiting your website/ blog they leave better off.
Become an information website/blog first, people will gain trust in you and you will have a long-term business relationship that will be beneficial to you and your customers.
2) Break Your Articles Down Into Easy To Read Paragraphs When your articles are broken down into easy to read paragraphs your prospect will read more of your article because they can take more in and process it better.
You don't want your prospects' eyes to get tired, this will only make them leave your website/blog which is not good! Your articles should be broken down into manageable sections, peoples attention span is 20-40 seconds when you go past this people lose interest and switch off.
When your articles are broken down into small sections and are also really interesting to read (your articles should be as appealing as possible) you have more chance of people finishing your article and you get your message across.
people will be more likely to finish reading your articles if they have content that is beneficial to them and also interesting to read.
Use pictures to keep their attention if it is possible.
Stimulate more than one of their senses.
The more the better, this will help keep the article readers attention.
RULE 2 Keep the articles interesting and keep the paragraphs short so readers attention keeps strong.
3) Business Relationship Build a relationship with your prospect.
So many internet marketers are just after the money.
They don't create any real value for their customers which in turn destroys any chance of a business relationship.
So many internet marketers get the email address and then bombard their list with useless affiliate links (this has happened to me).
These internet marketers have missed out on the golden rule in internet marketing...
Create value for you customers first.
When your prospect reads your articles, reads your newsletters and has gained some high quality information that is when you are a true internet marketer.
The first 6-7 newsletters should be all about gaining your prospects trust and building an honest, strong business relationship.
Give away high quality information that they can use right away and see the results.
They will be looking forward to your next newsletter (always improve on your last newsletter).
RULE 3 When you create high quality information for your prospect first, they will be more likely to buy from you in the future, again and again.
4) Show them you are serious about your blog When you give away tons of high quality useful information that your prospects can use to powerful effect its OK to have products that your prospect can buy on your blog.
Selling products on your blog shows your prospect you are serious about your blog and are business minded.
RULE 4 Giveaway 4 times more high quality information for every time you ask your prospects to buy from you.
When you giveaway 4 times more high quality information than you ask your prospects to buy from you, you come across as an internet marketing guru with good intentions, instead of an Internet marketer who is only after making money for him/her self and not creating massive value for customer's.
Aim for a long-term business relationship.
When prospects sign up for your newsletter giveaway high quality information that other internet marketer's would charge for.
5) Customer Service If you do decide to sell products on your blog or even on a website, make sure you have the best customer service possible.
We all know websites that are great looking, easy to navigate pages and the products are of the highest quality.
You may have even purchased those products, but when your product doesn't arrive when it should you send e-mails asking for help, customer service is slow in getting back and in some cases they never get back to you, so you spend good money with nothing to show for it.
Do you want your customer's to go through that? Have more than one e-mail address so customer's can contact you on another e-mail address if the customer service e-mail address is not working.
This is another way of building confidence in your prospects and customers.
When your business take's off (it will) you may even need to hire virtual assistants (v.
a) to help take some of the customer service workload off you.
If you are spending most of your day answering customer service e-mail's your business will start to move in the wrong direction.
Having virtual assistant's take care of your customer service has many good points: 1) Frees up your time so you can move your business in the right direction.
2) Make's you look more serious and professional, which build's confidence in your customers.
3) Virtual assistant's have experience with working with other internet marketer's, so they can give you knowledge and useful advice that you would not find anywhere else.
RULE 5 Customer's are for the long-term, not just for one sale.
Customer service will be the make or break for most internet marketer's.
When the customer's first order goes through smoothly and you have very good customer service to back your product up, customer's will buy again from you in the future, they will spend more because your products are of the highest quality and they know you have the customer service they can trust.
