Making it disappear - for good

    • Removing unwanted hair is an ongoing battle for many people. There are plenty of ways to remove hair temporarily, from shaving to waxing to plucking, but each brings it's own set of prices and, in some cases, pain. In most cases, all need to be repeated.

    Laser treatment

    • The most common form of permanent hair removal is laser treatment. This often requires several visits, but is regarded as one of the best solutions, according to an article at webmd.com.

But with results come higher prices. Laser hair removal is much more expensive than shaving or waxing, and can be extremely costly, especially since multiple visits are almost always required. Laser Perfect, a company with nine locations in major metro areas around the country, for instance, charges as much as $700 per visit for full leg treatment. A back treatment at full price costs $600, according to information at www.laserperfect.net, which provided a list of Boston prices.

    Finding the affordable alternatives

    • Several alternatives to laser hair removal are beginning to take hold. One option is finding a teaching clinic, where students will often perform procedures (under the supervision of certified professionals) for a fraction of the cost of laser hair treatment. The Remedy Spa (formerly the Esthetics Institute) in Concord, New Hampshire, for instance, offers Radiancy LHE Long-term Hair Removal for a much lower cost.

At Remedy Spa, full back treatment is $300.

There are teaching clinics all around the country, and all offer hair removal at competitive prices.

Laser hair removal can also be found in more affordable ways depending on the timing. Many facilities offer lower prices during certain seasons, dropping the price by as much as 50 percent or more. For instance, Laser Perfect offered several services in December for as much as 60 percent off, lowering the price of a full leg treatment from $700 to $280. Shop around--there are deals to be had.

Those who would like to receive permanent hair removal certainly have options. And with the right direction on where to look and a little shopping around, normally expensive procedures can be found at prices that will do anything but break the bank.
