Hi, I'm skin care expert Tracy O'Connor, and today I'm going to share with you how to choose a good foundation for oily skin. And if you do have oily skin, it's important to apply a moisturizer prior to applying a foundation, and the key is to choose a moisturizer that is oil-free, non-comedogenic, and that is very lightweight and non-greasy. To hydrate Eden's skin, I'm going to use the Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion by Kiehl's. It's the perfect light-weight moisturizer to use underneath a foundation. Just take about a dime-sized amount, 'cause we're going to apply onto her face, and then also to her neck and chest. And whenever you apply a moisturizer, you want to choose something that's right for your skin. You always want to choose something that's oil-free, if you have a tendency to have oily skin, because what can happen is the pores will clog, and that can create breakout, blackheads. And I'm just working the moisturizer into Eden's skin. And it's really lightweight. I can feel that it's going right into her skin, and that's important, because if you're going to apply a foundation on top of this, you don't want the foundation to slide around. It's a common misconception that you shouldn't moisturize the skin if you have oily skin. You need the hydration, and this product has imperata cylindrica, it has vitamin E and squalene, so it has ingredients that are going to hydrate the skin and add water to the skin cells, which is going to plump up the skin and provide a better canvas for the application of foundation afterwards. The more hydrated, and the higher water content in your skin cells, is going to give a smoother appearance, and make the makeup go on even that much more smoothly, and give that natural pretty effect that you want from the foundation. If you choose an oil-free moisturizer underneath your foundation, you'll be happy, because you wont have that mid-day shine that you tend to get on the T-zone. Now you'll notice on Eden's skin, that her skin is hydrated, it looks healthy, but it's not oily or greasy. When choosing a moisturizer, you just want to touch the skin a couple minutes afterwards, once it should be absorbed, and if there's any kind of a tackiness, then you know that you have a moisturizer that probably isn't right for you. You want something that goes right into the skin, so that your skin soaks it up. If there's any residual kind of tackiness, or oil, it's probably too heavy, and you want to look for something a little lighter. So there you go, that's how to choose a great foundation for oily skin. I'm Tracy O'Connor, thanks for watching.
