Astara Skincare founder Sunny Griffin is the perfect model and spokesperson for her organic live food skincare line. In fact Sunny was America’s number 1 model in 1966 and spent decades working as a celebrated model, actress and TV host. I only recently discovered Sunny during a raw, vegan video search on YouTube. After watching this vibrant, inspiring and energetic beauty, I googled her and happily learned that this gorgeous 70-year-old has her very own comprehensive beauty line: Astara Skincare.
I love UPS but If only they were as fast as YouTube and Google because I was inspired to try Astara as soon as possible. I placed my order and put myself on a one-month regimen with the Basic Care Kit – Normal.
Astara is a co-creation of top model Sunny and her health conscious business partner Elmyra Starr. The two friends were eating organic raw food and feeling incredible health benefits. They believed that skin care based on these same principles could deliver the same boosted results. In doing so they positioned Astara as a forerunner in the raw foods movement. Users don’t have to lead a raw vegan and organic lifestyle to benefit from these high enzyme, plant and herb based treatments but if you are dedicated to a raw vegan lifestyle, this line is a perfect fit.
Astara website share’s it’s organic and raw mission statement,

I am impressed with Astara Skincare, which certainly exceeds top spa lines as well as high-end department store brands. The line easily holds it own against Organic leaders Dr. Hauschka, Jurlique and Dr. Alkaitis and is refreshingly well priced.

Activated Antioxidant Infusion
This pale beige cream is light and soothing. It can be used as a stand-alone moisturizer during hot and humid months or hard work and workouts. For deeper moisture it can be paired with a moisturizer. This lightweight infusion offers a unique 5-hour time release to nourish skin with ant-oxidants green tea, borage oil and vitamins C and E. It soothes with calendula and comfrey and replenishes with jojoba, Shea butter, as well as anti-aging superstars evening primrose and frankincense. I used this morning and night on clean skin and followed-up with Anti-Oxidant Light Moisturizer. Before going out at night, I simply wash with a warm face cloth, dapple this over my face and neck before applying my organic raw RMS foundation. I felt and looked refreshed and dewy.
Anti-Oxidant Light Moisturizer
Anti-oxidants vitamins A, D and E along with anti-bacterials milk thistle and turmeric counter the aging impact of sun, free radicals and environmental toxins. Aloe, sandalwood, chamomile and calendula soothe and calm the skin in this light avocado, borage oil and Shea butter cream. Just a touch of this moisturizer protects and nourishes without ever feeling oily or heavy. I like the way this feels during application and once its on, it penetrates and doesn't slip or slide even on the hottest most humid days.
Scoring Astara’s Moisturizers
5 Points – Yes, they really do work. I enjoyed the luxurious and gentle healing touch of these lightweight skincare gems. Skin looks radiant and feels young to the touch.
5 Points – These products are organic at the highest commitment and moreover, they are raw.
5 Points – The value is awesome. These varied ingredients are high-end healers and Astara is not using fillers. These are very well priced especially in light of the quality of ingredients, consideration, preparation and performance.
5 Points – Yes this packaging is sustainable. I always prefer glass jars which is just what these pure performers are packaged in. Astara ships in packaging that is recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable.
