A Diet Coach Can Save You From Dreaded "Fast Weight Loss-Itis

A fast weight loss story from an easy diet is the grand-slam of the weight loss coaching business.
Nothing sells weight loss stuff like dramatic before and after photos and a good story! At the same time nothing contributes to diet failure like unrealistic expectations.
That's where a diet coach comes in.
Everyone wants to drop the pounds 'right now', and they don't want to suffer while doing it.
The truth is that some do lose weight quickly and some don't.
This is why you need an easy diet and a good diet coach.
My own weight loss story is one that makes a great headline.
I lost 30 pounds in 30 days, and went on to lose 42 pounds of fat in about six weeks.
I was super busy with work so the easy diet made it possible for me to lose weight without really thinking about it.
Drink my shake...
take my tablets...
sip my tea and...
presto: 12" and two pant sizes.
It doesn't happen that way for everyone though.
That's why I'm glad I had a diet coach to help me along.
I remember a couple of weeks into it that the scale was telling me I wasn't losing any more weight.
I was bummed until my diet coach pointed out that I was losing inches, which was actually better because it meant I was adding lean muscle.
When you don't diet right, you lose muscle mass.
It happens to almost everyone.
Most of us aren't eating enough protein anyway and when we cut back on our calories we reduce it even further.
More lean muscle means higher metabolism which makes it easier to support a healthy weight.
During my personal weight loss run I lost 42 pounds of fat, but added 7 lbs of lean muscle.
I knew this because my diet coach was measuring me and pointing out that I was dropping inches, a sure sign that I was losing fat.
Later, a high-tech body composition analysis confirmed that my overall body fat percentage had gone down.
I coached a middle-aged woman a while back who called me and said she wasn't losing weight (she had lost 40 pounds, but had hit a plateau-so she thought).
I went over her measurements with her and found that she was still shedding fat pounds, but her improved protein intake had her reshaping a bit, adding lean muscle.
Once she recognized that her scale wasn't telling her the entire story she was thrilled.
- and re-energized to keep it up.
Another client was disappointed that she hadn't seen a big drop in the first couple of weeks.
That's a tough one because most people do see pretty hefty weight loss right away.
But it was clear that she was steadily losing weight at the rate of a couple three pounds a week.
In a few months she'd be at her target weight.
Because she was leaning on her diet coach, me, she worked through it and kept on track.
Everyone has different obstacles.
They can be emotional or physical, real or imagined.
