You may already drink green tea as a favoured healthy alternative to coffee, or even black tea.
But did you know that certain teas are a natural herbal supplement that may help slimming? Tea has long been used by those is Asia as beneficial for health and longevity.
Benefits as a slimming aid has been less well known.
Drinking green tea can help you to reduce your appetite, consequently helping you to reduce the desire to snack between meals.
Coffee is popular as a between meal drink, but packs on empty calories, especially when combined with biscuits! So drinking tea is an excellent alternative to coffee - it is refreshing too.
It is also known to slow down the absorption of fat, gives you some added energy, freshens your breath (unlike coffee) and can prevent tooth decay.
Drinking tea will also boost your antioxidants in the body, known to help fight the basic cell damage caused by toxins in the body.
Antioxidants help slow down the aging process, hence boosting your longevity.
The only reported side effects from drinking tea would be caffeine related.
High amounts of caffeine, certainly if your not use to it, causes restlessness, insomnia, jittery, or have bowel issues.
There could also be iron deficiency issues as green tea blocks the absorption of iron.
So pregnant or breasfeeding mothers may wish to limit their tea intake for this reason.
Green tea may seem like a miracle tea, in some ways it is! On the whole, green tea can be a great slimming aid to anyone who wants a healthy boost to there challenging diet.
