I Need to Lose Weight? How Do I Get Free From Sugar Cravings?
If you need to lose weight but you find it difficult because you are faced with overwhelming sugar cravings you are not alone.
This is a challenge many people face and it is one that I have faced in the past.
This article shares ways you can break free of your sugar cravings.
Free From Sugar Cravings 1.
Have a compelling reason to drop the sugar.
If you do not have a good enough reason to not have the sugar when a craving hits you will eat the sugar.
How do you get a compelling reason? By setting a goal.
Take a few moments to ask yourself what you really want and then set a goal.
For instance, if you have a craving but you can say to yourself, "I want the sugar but I want to lose 10 pounds this month even more then the sugar.
" Then you are on your way to breaking free.
2.
Remove yourself from the eating occasion.
A sugar craving will often hit after a meal, "you just want something a little sweet.
" To move past this craving clear the taste of food out of your mouth by drinking a glass of water, coffee or tea or chewing a stick of gum.
This squashes the craving and you avoid the extra calories.
3.
Keep the sweets out of your house.
If the sweets are not there you will not eat them...
or be tempted by them.
Do not make it harder then it has to be to avoid the snacks, go around your house and clear away the snacks or if others in the house are eating them at least move them out of sight to an inconvenient place so you don't grab and go.
4.
Eat treats more mindfully.
When you do have a sweet treat do not simply gobble it down so you can have more.
Eat it mindfully by taking a few seconds to look at the food and notice what it looks like, then notice how it smells and how it feels inside your mouth.
You will experience the snack differently and you will find that you naturally eat it more calmly and you eat less of it.
