How to Make Sure Your Child Isn"t Violent
Children from an early age must be taught a peaceful attitude and parents can only do this if they are able to recognize violent behaviour at its starting point and try to steer the child from this to other acceptable methods of behavior.
So what can parents do to make sure their child isn't violent? The points below will help: 1) Teach children that compassion, love and consideration are good things which help a person in life and that to grow up to be respectful and successful, they must display such good behaviours.
Remember that such words will only have an effect on the children if they see you practicing those your self since they look up to you and will emulate all that you do so first take a look at yourself to see if you are displaying any signs of violence and take steps to correct that attitude.
2) Pay attention to children when they approach you to discuss their problem and help them with it.
If they do not approach you but you sense something is troubling them, go up to them and with love and genuine interest ask them what is bothering them, this way they will not resort to violence to solve their problem.
3) Keep kids busy with hobbies and activities so they can use up their energy in a productive way.
When they are left idle, they get bored easily and then moody which can lead to sudden outbursts of violence.
So be sure to keep them occupied with sports, crafts, outings, or any other thing which keeps them busy and happy.
4) Make sure you have set rules that make it clear to the kids that if they display violence, they will be punished and be sure to enforce the rule when the need arises.
This gives a clear message to the kids that you will not tolerate such behaviour and it will keep them away from it.
5) Listen to complaints from others carefully regarding your child especially their teachers, you do not know what they do when you are not around so do not wave such comments aside but rather look into the matter and try to come up with a solution.
A violent attitude can lead to many problems so you must control it when you start noticing it before it gets too far to require professional help.
in such cases consult a mental health professional because they can help deal with this problem effectively.
