- 1). Download the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Upgrade Advisor (see Resources). This program will analyze your system and determine how best to upgrade Microsoft SQL.
- 2). Download the .NET Framework 2.0 (see Resources). If you are running a 64-bit version of Windows, download the 64-bit version of .NET; otherwise, download the 32-bit version.
- 3). Click the .NET Framework 2.0 icon to begin its installation. Follow the onscreen instructions and accept the license agreement.
- 4). Click the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Upgrade Advisor icon to begin its installation. Follow the onscreen instructions and accept the license agreement. The Upgrade Advisor will examine your system, download and install the correct components. When it finishes, your MS SQL version is upgraded.
