Football summer camps are an ideal way for children to keep active, make new friends and grow their playing or position skills. Since football is a beloved sport in Texas, parents will find a plethora of football camps available throughout the state for children, with many taught by top-ranked high school and college coaches or professional players. - The Contact Football Camp program is for boys ages 8 to 18 years old in Georgetown, Texas, on the campus of Southwestern University. It is typically held during the last week in June. Contact Football Camp is led by college football coaches, and parents will find a variety of options, all at different price levels: an overnight stay where children stay on campus for four days and receive housing and meals; an extended stay that includes lunch and dinner, with children at the camp from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. but not overnight for the camp's duration; a daytime option that lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day of the camp and includes lunch; and, finally, a one-day morning clinic for quarterbacks, offensive linemen and wide receivers that lasts from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. For the camp, your child will need the following equipment: one helmet, two shoulder pads, one light jersey, one dark jersey, pants with pads and non-metal-tip cleat football shoes. Equipment is available for rent for campers who don't own the necessary gear. Complete registration and equipment rental online or by mail. Each camp participant receives a T-shirt.
