    Precooked Food In Foil Wraps

    • Precook your food before going camping. If you cook your ground beef, and add some potatoes and vegetables to it, wrap it in a foil packet before going camping. These packets can be heated up quickly over an open fire, and they do not take a lot of space in your backpack.

    Cereals

    • Cereal makes a good snack when camping. It can be eaten with or without milk in a Ziploc bag. If you want to have it with milk, include some dehydrated milk with the cereal in the Ziploc bag and add water when you want to eat it.

    Sandwiches

    • To make sandwiches when camping, replace bread with crackers. The crackers will go stale much less rapidly than bread. For meat, use Genoa salami or pepperoni. These lunch meats do not need to be refrigerated like deli cut ham or turkey require.

    Dinners

    • A cup of noodles can be a very good start to a nice dinner when camping. Start with the cup of noodles and bring a can of cubed cooked chicken. Add the chicken or even some beef jerky to your cup of noodles and you have a full meal.

    Block Ice

    • Use block ice instead of ice cubes in your coolers. The block ice will melt slower and keep your food cooler than ice cubes because of the smaller amount of surface area heat can affect on a single block compared with multiple cubes where it can effect all four sides of every cube.
