Be the Host They Will Never Forget
Their parties are always happening because everyone knows they will definitely have a great time there, and an invite from that host will not only be cherished, but that host can count on the majority of invites showing up.
Becoming that host is not the hardest thing in the world, and it starts with a little bit of preparation on the guest list.
- When you are contemplating who to invite, keep in mind that one worm can spoil the entire apple.
With that in mind, avoid inviting such people as "the creepy guy.
" Although he may be that friend you feel bad about not inviting, you are more likely to cause harm than good by having him out. - Invite a lot of people, and use phrasing like "everyone is going to be there!" even if you have not got a single reply back.
- See if you can find a local band to play for free.
They will probably suck so keep the show to an hour or two. - Lots of seating.
If you have to find free couches on Craigslist, do it.
No one wants to just stand. - Do not turn on a movie, just music.
Movie kills the mood and people try to pay attention. - Make sure to have games like beer pong constantly cycling.
Make a list and call people up for turns.
Keep people playing. - Dim the lights!
- Watch out charging for parties.
Unless you have a reputation for throwing spectacular parties, no one wants to pay 5 bucks for a cup when they might leave in 20 minutes.
But make sure to... - Keep plenty of food and beverages.
If you run out of food and drink, the party is over. - Speaking of drinks, you are going to have people pass out and make a mess, and you need a place to put them.
Remember to lock your room first, or you will have problems. - Once the morning comes, you are going to have some sick people.
Keep plenty of water, hangover cure, and if you are feeling really generous some pizza. - Keep lots of blankets on hand for sleeping.
Do not assume anyone will stay there, but make sure you offer.
Those couches you got will come in use. - Lock up the alcohol at the end of the night.
You do not want to wake up to anything missing.
The better of a host you are, the more people you will have, and that means the less people you actually know.
