More Ideas For Going Green
It isn't easy, but can be done.
I found that using rags or washable sponges worked for me in all situations except one.
And that was for draining bacon and sopping up leftover grease from the pan.
But I did find the answer, so check it out below.
oI get a daily newspaper.
Yes, I know I am killing trees, though I understand that most of them are using recycled paper now.
And I recycle it myself.
Newspaper is great for washing windows, glass tables, and dusting tv screens or computer monitors.
They leave things lint and streak free.
And the other biggie is...
put an oven or roasting pan rack on some newspaper, drain your bacon on it, and then take that newspaper and throw it in the frying pan to absorb the rest of the bacon grease.
It is so much easier than storing the fat, and the dry pan is much easier to clean.
oFor coffee filters, you have two choices.
Buy a reusable one and keep washing it, or use recycled filters.
oGive up the disposable razors and go back to the old fashioned safety razor.
They are much cheaper, and it stops the use of all that plastic housing material that is filling up our landfills.
oDon't make paper copies unless you need them.
And there is nothing wrong with printing on the other side of papers no longer needed.
Set your printing to grayscale, instead of color to conserve on ink.
Just remember to change it back before printing a photo.
