- 1). Register for a free account at the Overstock Web site with a valid email address (see Resources below). Click the Register Now link located at the top of the page. You’ll be instantly directed to a brief registration page that requires a valid email address and a password. Select the green Continue button to complete the process and log in to your new account. Once you’ve logged into your account, select the Account Settings tab to change your password, address, email address and other settings.
- 2). Click the Electronics tab located at the top of the Overstock page. The next page displays several shopping categories from which to choose. Select the Unlocked Cell Phones link to browse through the various unlocked cell phones for sale. You can refine your search by categories, pricing, brands, and even networks. To do this, click one of the available links located in the Refine By box. Select a desired phone and then click the green Add to Cart button to purchase it.
- 3). Visit the TigerDirect Web site and browse their selection of unlocked cell phones (see Resources below). Click the Cellular Phone link located on the left side of the homepage. On the next page, you’ll have the chance to choose between purchasing a locked or unlocked cell phone. Click the blue Unlocked Phones button to view these phones. To buy an unlocked cell phone within a certain price range, click the drop down arrow located near the Shop by Price area. An assortment of unlocked cell phones will be displayed for you to choose from.
- 4). Choose the unlocked cell phone you’d like to purchase by clicking onto it. After reviewing its details, click the green Add to Cart button to buy it. When the unlocked cell phone has been placed into your shopping cart, enter the shipping zip code to calculate the correct shipping charges. Press the Go button when this has been done. There are several checkout methods available, and you should pick the best one that suits you.
- 5). Perform a search for an unlocked cell phone on Craigslist. Visit the homepage and select the city in which you'd like to buy the phone. Type the words Unlocked Cell Phone in the empty space located at the left of the page. Make sure that the drop down box located under this area has the words "For Sale" in it. Click the right arrow key located next to this box and begin your search.
- 6). View the displayed search results on the next page. Click onto one and read the details that accompany it. The seller usually has his contact number and email address displayed for you to contact him directly. If you’re satisfied, begin the process of purchasing the unlocked cell phone.
