You need to drop 3,500 calories to lose one pound.
If you can do that in a week, that is great.
Some people can lose two pounds in one week.
It really depends on how many calories you are eating right now.
An average woman burns about 1,800 calories in a normal day.
If I eat 1,800 calories per day, then I am maintaining my weight.
If I burn that many calories, how many calories are needed to lose weight.
Let's do the math: 3,500 calories over 7 days is 500 calories per day.
If I can reduce my daily calories by 500 then I can lose a pound a week.
Most health experts do not recommend eating less than 1,200 calories per day.
You need to eat to keep your body functioning properly.
If you don't eat, then your body will try to hold on to the little energy it has and your metabolism will drop, which means you will burn fewer calories than normal.
Start with counting all the calories you eat daily.
Do this over a week and get an average daily rate.
Then figure out a way to cut out 500 calories.
There may be several things you can do like, cut out one soda daily, change that donut to an english muffin.
Don't "biggie size" your meal.
For that matter, get the smallest size.
You will find many ways you can cut down your daily calorie intake.
As I said earlier - don't cut out too many calories.
Your body needs a certain amount to function.
If you reduce your daily calories to lose more weight, you may end up tired and drained.
Your body is burning up the wrong nutrients in order to handle it's normal tasks.
If you can't cut out enough food, exercise to burn off the rest.
You can cut out 300 calories and exercise for 30 minutes to burn up the other 200.
