- 1). Set the multimeter to read amperage. The range selected should include at least 10 amps.
- 2). Connect the red lead from the multimeter to the positive terminal on the battery. Connect the black lead from the multimeter to the metal side of the light bulb.
- 3). Connect the electrical wire from the bottom of the light bulb to the negative terminal on the battery. Turn the multimeter on and read the amps.
