How to Whitewash Avocado Trees
- 1). Fill a bucket with equal parts white latex paint and equal parts cold water to create a whitewash. The amount of whitewash you need will be determined by the size of your avocado tree. Just give it your best guess--you can always mix more.
- 2). Mix the whitewash thoroughly with a mixing stick.
- 3). Paint your avocado tree's branches and trunk with one coat of whitewash.
- 4). Re-apply the whitewash whenever it fades (usually annually) for the first 2 years of your avocado's life or until its foliage provides adequate shade.
