The Pros And Cons Of A Quit Smoking Pill
What was the date that you finally decided to quit smoking forever? What ever that date was, I am sure that you heard about "The Pill". It is not some sort of a drug that you take today and tomorrow you are an ex-smoker. It is a pill that you need to take for a very long time and it may or may not help you 100% in stopping cravings or smoking cigarettes forever.
The fact of the matter is that while it may help some, it may not do any good for the rest of the population.
There are 2 types of those pills that are on the market. One is called Zyban and the other one is called Chantix.
Anyway, what I do want to talk about right now are the pros and cons of using either one of them to help you kick the habit.
Pros:
What can be more easier then taking a pill that can help you stop smoking forever? A pill that you can put in your mouth and your problems are over.
The pill basically eases withdrawal symptoms by replacing nicotine's effect on the "pleasure" centers of your brain.
If used properly, this drug can do good things for you.
Cons:
The stop smoking pill can be expensive and your insurance, if you have any, may not cover it. Now that you are not spending any more money on buying cigarettes, you are spending more money on this pill that once stopped being used, gets you to the same place before you started to take it.
Another "con" is that you will have some side effects like constipation, gas, sleeping problems, and nausea.
Plus, there is no guarantee that taking this medication will help you. That's not a good thing, isn't it. You can spend tons of cash on it and it may not help you at all. It's like throwing money in the street and not carrying.
