How to Remove Wasps Using a Bottle
- 1). Remove any paper or labeling from your bottle. Using scissors or a razor knife, carefully cut the bottle in half.
- 2). Turn the top half of the bottle upside down and place it inside the bottom half. Make sure neck of the bottle is centered within the bottom half.
- 3). Staple the top and bottom together all the way around the bottle using a stapler so that the wasps can not get out between the two connecting sides. Use a hole puncher to punch two holes across from each other on the bottle.
- 4). Measure out enough heavy gauge wire to hang your bottle trap. Run the wire through the first hole and then through the second. Bring the two ends of the wire up above the bottle and twist it together so that it holds securely.
- 5). Fill the completed trap with bait based on the season you are in. Fill it with protein rich foods in the spring, such as wet dog food or lunch meat. Fill it with sweet foods in the summer and fall, like soda or wine.
- 6). Hang your trap outdoors where wasps tend to frequently visit using the wire. Discard the trap when it is full and make a new one to hang.
