Basics of the Shifting Calories Theory
I'll get straight to the point, the Shifting Calories Theory is based around a traditional low calorie diet, but without many of it's disadvantages.
What are these disadvantages? Firstly, if you have ever been on one you most likely will have noticed you started to lose weight and then slowly stopped losing, until you stopped completely.
This is very disheartening as you have done nothing wrong and everything right, but it's the diet's fault not yours! Some people like to blame everything but themselves but in this case it really isn't your fault...
How is Shifting Calories Different? The reason why you stop losing weight on a traditional low calorie diet is simply because your metabolism slows down to crawl.
It does this due to your low calorie intake, it thinks you are starving and starts burning less energy, effectively stopping your weight loss.
This is where the Calorie Shifting comes in.
On specific days you will eat high calorie foods, this tricks your body into thinking you are eating normally, so it continues burning all the energy that you throw at it.
This also has the added benefit of allowing you to eat some of the nice stuff quite regularly, keeping you enthusiastic and motivated to reach your weight loss target.
There is one downside to this however, some people lose too much weight using this technique.
I know it sounds crazy, how can someone lose too much weight? Well you can, and it is unhealthy! If you start to lose too much, take a break from the diet and then start again in a few days, it's that flexible.
