How to Burn a Slideshow on a DVD Disc
- 1). Install and open a slide show program on to your computer. Windows Movie Maker is used to complete the steps outlined in this article; a free download is available (see link in Resources). While different slide show programs will have different terminology, they operate in basically the same manner.
- 2). Use the "Pictures" link under the "Import" section of the "Task" area to the left of the Windows Movie Maker window. Select the folder to which your slide show images are saved using the drop-down menu at the top of the "Import media items" pop-up window. Click once on an image file name and once on the "Import" button to add a picture to the slide show. The images you select will appear under the "Clip" section.
- 3). Click once on an image file name from the "Clip" section and drag it to the "Storyboard" section at the bottom of the Windows Movie Maker window while holding down the mouse button. Repeat this step for each individual image that you want to include in your slide show. The order of the pictures may be changed by clicking once on an image and dragging it to a new location on the "Storyboard" while holding down the mouse button.
- 4). Click once on the "Publish Movie" button after you have finished creating the slide show. Select the DVD option on the "Publish Movie" pop-up window then click once on the "Next" button. The Windows Movie Maker will prompt you to save the slide show prior to burning it to DVD. Choose a folder in which to save the slide show, type a name into the "File name" field then click once on the "Save" button. A separate "Windows DVD Maker" window will launch.
- 5). Click once on the "Burn" button on the "Windows DVD Maker" window. Insert a blank DVD into your computer's DVD burner when prompted to do so. The burning process will begin automatically, and the DVD will eject when the process has completed. Repeat this step for each copy of the DVD that you want to burn.
