No one likes to have a bug problem, especially having encounters with bed bugs.
These are creatures that you would never want to ever find in your home.
You will never want to invite them to your home as they can live for a long time, whether fed or unfed.
They reproduce quickly and in a short period, you may find tons of them crawling around your bedroom.
What can you do to prevent them from entering your home? With many people widely traveled these days, bed bugs have a good chance to be transported.
They can hide in your suitcases or clothes, and unwittingly, you provide a new host and home for them.
Hotels and dorms face this problems and if you checked into a room and find some black stains on the wall, do inspect the room for any visible signs of these creatures.
If you do not feel comfortable, ask for a change in room at the reception.
Here are some simple ways to ensure proper hygiene so that you will prevent this problem: 1.
Wash your covers (mattress or pillow or bolster covers) regularly and dry them in the sun.
2.
Use a bed bug mattress cover or pillow cover to protect your mattress or pillows.
3.
Do regular cleaning and vacuuming of the room.
4.
Try not to have too much furniture or items cluttering in your room.
These can become potential hiding places for them.
5.
Steam cleaning is recommended since they die under high temperatures.
6.
Avoid buying used furniture that seem to be discarded in an improper manner.
7.
Have a habit to check around the room when you travel.
Look for tell tale signs behind the headboard or mattress.
Check your luggage for any bed bugs when you reach home and if the luggage is washable, wash it with soap and water and sun dried.
