Like most genuine Black and Decker Battery it is equipped with the "no memory" technology which allows you to recharge it without having to drain all its power first. Meaning you can recharge it every after use so you can have a fully charge battery every time you need it. Pod style batteries are used by later models of Black and Decker cordless tools. They cannot be used in cordless tools using slide style battery.
