Often times people talk about Russian Roulette as a way of describing some dangerous chance that someone takes with their own life.
It is usually talked about in regards to something that the person would never do.

Drug addiction takes over a person's life in the blink of an eye.
They become so focused on getting high that they lost respect for life.
Each time they draw up the needle, or put the lighter to the pipe they are flirting with death.
