Test Drive Unlimited PC Car Pack And Thoughts

Alot of people were turning up to my site when Test drive unlimited was first out on pc looking for the carpacks that all the xbox 360 users had.

Like everyone else I desperately wanted to hear about another car pack for PC especially as the xbox 360 users kept getting more cars all the time. As a pc gamer I couldn't help but feel negelected.

Before the first car pack and back in the beta days Atari would always inform people of upcoming events, cars and the like, and some times let us in on whats going on in the Eden Studios production offices, but there was none of that since the release of the first car pack featuring the Audi RS4 and Nissan Skyline GTR R34, I thought they'd neglected the game altogether.

Which raised the question about Atari's financial situation, I was constantly wondering whether they had finally gone bankrupt, especially since they seemed to be selling off franchises left, right and center.

They actually admitted there troubles in a press release a few years back and said they sold off all their franchises and are relying on Test Drive Unlimited and a couple of other games to rescue them.

What seemed strange at the time was pretty much all news garnered about atari was throught the Test Drive Unlimited forums!! it might aswell of been the Atari website

At one time there was 8 threads talking about it, and around 600 posts to a thread roughly according to one of the members. Which kind of overtook what the forum was about which was test drive..

Theres still a few active members keeping the boards alive. It's quite a sad thing though, One of the most legendary, iconic and industry leading developers/companies going out like this. They had got the perfect game for so many people with Test Drive, unfortunatly that hasn't been enough to save them.

What was reassuring at the time was the fact atari had already bought a website address by the name of testdriveunlimited2.com and on there, there was requests for designers, developers and so on.

BUT and this is a BIG BUT(try not to laugh) theres so many issues and glitches with both the PC and even more developed 360 versions, don't you think atari should fix the first games first and find out about all the other numerous bugs before they go ahead with a new one?....Sadly the new one is just as bad in the glitch and bug department, but the game itself is almost unimiaginably huge and diverse with so much to do. my real question is, are the bugs there because of the groundbreaking technology that the TDU series is using? or is it just because they dont't have enough time and money to thoroughly sort out all the problems?..it makes you think.
