Reel Lawn Mower Troubleshooting
- 1). Loosen or tighten the cutting bar blade if you notice an uneven cut or if the mower becomes harder to push.
- 2). Sharpen and lubricate the blades when the reel lawn mower becomes harder to push and it starts to produce a rougher cut; a properly sharpened reel lawn mower will produce a straight, clean cut.
- 3). Tighten the lock nut and the gear housing assembly if the wheels appear loose.
- 4). Adjust the cutting bar for a proper clearance between the cutter bar and the blades, if the reel blades and cutter bar make contact.
- 5). Tighten the bolts and screws with a wrench and screwdriver on the cutting equipment and mower if the reel lawn mower rattles or produces abnormal noises, possibly indicating the screws and bolts are loose.
- 6). Adjust the cutting height higher if your lawn starts turning yellow or appears to be cut too short.
- 7). Wait for the lawn to be dry if using your reel lawn mower leaves deep tracks on your lawn.
