How to Make a Bow From Tent Poles
- 1). Take two pieces of pole from the tent's collection of pole pieces, being sure that one has connectors on both ends, while the other has a connector on only one end.
- 2). Slide the end of the pole without a connector on it into one of the connectors on the pole with connectors on both ends, to create a length of pole two sections long, with a connector at each end.
- 3). Fold the poly cord in half.
- 4). Position the poly cord over your leg, and begin rolling the cord, starting near the fold, so that it twists around itself. Continue for the length of the cord, then tie the ends together.
- 5). Pass the poly cord through the hollow tent poles, and allow it to hang with an even amount of extra string at each end.
- 6). Wrap the outside of the poles with electrical tape, with extra passes near the ends and center of the poles.
- 7). Pull the two ends of cord toward each other until the bow has reached your desired relaxed flex.
- 8). Secure the ends of cord together with a half-hitch knot to tie off your bow's cord.
