    • 1). Power down your computer. Unplug the power cord and all the peripheral cables connected to the back of your desktop. Lay your desktop on its side. Pull the cover latch and slide the cover off your desktop.

    • 2). Remove the fan assembly. Lift up on the cover over the fan. Disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard. Locate the fan release lever on the side of the fan. Pull the lever back and slide the fan out of place.

    • 3). Make a diagram of which cables are plugged into which devices. Unplug the cables from all the devices inside your computer that the power supply is connected to, including the motherboard itself. Remove the four screws that hold the power supply in place from the back of the desktop unit. Slide the power supply out of the case.

    • 4). Insert the new power supply into the same location where the old power supply was and secure it with the four screws. Replace the fan assembly by lining up the tabs and inserting them into the case until you hear the fan snap into place. Insert the fan cable connector into the slot on the motherboard.

    • 5). Reconnect the cables from the power supply to your devices, referring to the diagram you made.

    • 6). Slide the cover back onto the case and snap it into place.

    • 7). Plug in the cables to your peripherals and the cord to your power supply. Power up your computer.
