Take an 18-inch piece of heavy gauge wire and form loops on either end for arms.

Place a scant amount of craft stuffing on the arm cloth. Add raffia or strips of yarn for scarecrow hay effect. Wrap cloth around the wire and stuffing. Tie at wrists and center with yarn. Knot tightly.

Lay head on stick on to the arms. Tie securely together with a piece of yarn.

Fold shirt material in half. Cut a 2 1/2-inch slit from the fold down. Fit slit over head, and drape cloth down over the front and back.

Hand-sew the sides of the shirt. Sew a hat onto the head with a few strands of yarn hair sewn under it to hang down on the sides.

Fold pants cloth in half. Cut from the fold down about 4 1/2 inches. Turn wrong side out and sew around the legs. Stuff lightly. Pant leg bottoms are on the fold.
