You will want to start with a visual inspection checking for cracks, bent parts, tires and any loose hoses or wiring.
If you find any damage it is best to fix it before running it again.
Running your vehicle with damaged parts could cause even more damages and costly repairs.
If there is no damage you can start wiping down the RC body with a rag or paper towel to remove the dirt.
To get at them hard to reach areas use a brush or toothbrush.
Main objective is to get all the dirt out or away from your RC vehicle.
Once your done running your nitro vehicle you will want to drain your fuel tank.
Nitro fuels are alcohol based which are susceptible to moisture.
In return would cause condensation in your engine.
Causing the internal parts in your engine to rust, leading to severe damage.
Next you will want to use an air compressor or aerosol air can to blow dirt away from engine and other parts.
Then you want to remove as much grease and grime as you can by using an aerosol based nitro engine cleaner with a stiff bristle brush.
Don't forget the dirt that is packed in the fins as this will cause overheating and shorter life span for your nitro engine.
Next you want to remove glow plug and copper washer.
Make sure you don't lose copper washer as this helps with seating glow plug in the cylinder head of engine.
Next you will want to put a few drops of after burn oil down the cylinder head into the hole where the glow plug was removed.
Then you want to crank the engine over with your electric start system or a few pulls on the manual start cord.
To ensure that all internal parts are thoroughly lubricated.
Then you will want to reinstall glow plug with copper washer and attach wire if equipped with one.
Next you will want to remove air filter from carburetor housing.
To do this simply twist slightly and pull it off.
Just be careful you don't want to damage the inlet of carburetor.
Disassemble and remove foam insert.
That's where all the dirt is collected.
Now wash all the parts and foam in soapy water.
Dish detergent or hand soap can be used for this.
After washing all the parts run them under running water to remove all the soap and the dirt from foam and other parts.
Then you will want to dry them.
To speed the process up you can use compressed air.
Just make sure everything is completely dry or sort of defeats the purpose of cleaning them.
Apply 30 drops of air filter oil to face of foam insert.
Insert foam into housing with the coated side up to touch the screen.
Then reassemble all other pieces.
Next you will want to check shocks fluid level and for any lose screws.
It's a good idea to use loctite for screws that go into metal.
If your planning to store your RC vehicle more than a week.
It is best to remove batteries from your RC car and controller.
You want to prevent any corrosion from forming and damaging your RC truck or controller.
Last and foremost replacing any damaged parts before running it again is the best solution.
