- 1). Locate the knob on the coupler between the string trimmer shaft and trimmer attachment.
- 2). Loosen the knob with your fingers in a counterclockwise motion. Do not remove the knob completely.
- 3). Find the positioning hole button located by the kno, and push it in to separate the Ryobi into two pieces. Lay the trimmer attachment down gently.
- 4). Turn the knob in a clockwise motion to secure it to the string trimmer shaft.
- 5). Put the two pieces of the Ryobi in a safe location for the winter season.
