- 1). Turn the computer on and connect the USB cable from the floppy drive to a free USB port on your computer. Make sure the cable is fully seated.
- 2). Install the driver for the USB floppy drive by inserting the CD that came with the drive. If you do not have the CD, log on to the manufacturer's website and download the proper driver for your operating system.
- 3). Insert a floppy disk in the USB floppy drive. Right-click on "Computer" and choose "Explore" from the menu. Click on the "A" drive and make sure you can read the contents of the floppy.
