without spending way too much? Below are some tips for couples to enjoy a romantic vacation even if the two of you might not have enough funds to do so. Better yet, you can use these tips to surprise your loved one to give yourselves a break the monotony of your everyday routines. Don't forget to pack those briefcases of yours ready for a romantic getaway!

Choose a travel destination that is near your residence. Check out nearby resorts and pick these out for your romantic getaway. If you can travel by car, do so as this allows you to save a lot on airfare and even hotel rooms if you choose to travel to a different state or even country. Pick out a secluded resort for your romantic getaway which wilrdl help you in creating the romantic ambiance you need. Even if you choose a resort close to home, it won't feel like it at all.

Schedule your trip during the off – peak season. If you really want to save money, you should pick your travel date during the off peak season months. If you think about it, doing so actually provides a lot of advantages. You get to save a lot as most resorts and hotels offer lower rates since there are less tourists, and you also get the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed environment as there aren't too many people bustling around, perfect for that romantic ambiance you're aiming for.

Always look for discounts and deals. You should make it a habit to always compare rates. Saving money isn't all about spending less – it is also about getting the best value for the price you paid. There are a lot of hotels and resorts that offer plenty of deals especially for couples out for a romantic getaway or even a honeymoon. Don't forget to check out packaged deals like those with meals included or local travel by a rental car provided by the hotel.

Not all that glitters is gold. Just because it's a 5 star hotel or a glitzy restaurant makes it the best in the whole world. All you're after is a romantic bed and breakfast, you can choose small, cozy hotels that provide you the same thing without having to spend too much. Remember, what's important is the quality time you get to spend with your significant other, and you're probably not planning everything just to impress him or her with how much you've spent.

Enjoy the outdoors. Have you ever gone camping with your special someone? If not, now's the time to enjoy both the company of your loved one and the beauty of nature. Going camping is a simple, affordable, and a romantic way to spend time with your loved one. You can show off your manly skills by starting the fire yourself and building the tent, or have her show her culinary skills by preparing the camping food.

If you or your partner are tied up with work and can't leave the house (like me and my husband are most of the time), you can have as much fun at home. Start off with decorating the floors and the bed with rose petals, have a bottle of chilled wine, candles, a hot bath ready, and a romantic candlelit dinner.

I'll never forget an anniversary where I came home from work and found a letter with a clue in it that led me to different parts of the house. The highlight was when I had to place a blindfold and my husband carried me to the car. Our briefcases were apparently packed already with plenty of sexy lingerie and we went to this charming little bed and breakfast and had the most romantic anniversary ever. Best of all, we didn't have to spend a fortune!
