What Is Sleep Deprivation? Sleep deprivation is something that millions of people deal with on a daily basis.
If you don't get enough sleep, your body simply can not do the things that you need it to do.
Unfortunately, with all that you have to do in a day, you may find yourself letting sleep become the one thing that you simply forgo.
This can cost you quite a bit, though.
In fact, if you are deprived of sleep enough; your quality of work can slip so much so that you would be accomplishing less than when you do get enough sleep.
Some surveys say that upwards of 47 million Americans alone face problems with sleep that can be considered sleep deprivation.
This is nearly one quarter of all American adults.
The numbers are stagger and the risks that are in place to those that are sleep deprived are even worse than the way that you feel.
The most commonly effects of lack of sleep include these: • Memory problems.
You can remember what you need to do, how to do it or the details to various things you need to accomplish.
• Energy levels fall considerably.
When this happens, your body simply can not keep up with your demand.
Unfortunately, you don't have the ability to do the things that you were doing when you did get enough sleep.
You may feel less strong, incapable of focusing on the task at hand or just unable to perform the desired action.
• Mental alertness is one of the largest risk factors to those that suffer from sleep problem.
Those that don't get enough sleep often find themselves unable to focus which can lead them to drastic safety concerns.
You simply can not keep up not just physically but mentally as well.
This puts you at risk.
• Emotionally, you can be not there.
Or, you could be one of the many that experiences extreme mood swings for no obvious reason.
You may become hyper sensitive or completely insensitive.
Any and all of these affects of lack of sleep, equal a risk that you simply can not handle.
If you find yourself unable to do your job or you can't accomplish all that you need to, it could be that you are suffering from sleep deprivation.
