How to Troubleshoot Swype

    • 1). Tap each letter of the word if Swype doesn't know your word. This is similar to how you'd enter words on a classic on-screen keyboard. Then press "Space." Swype will learn it for future use and you won't need to manually enter it again.

    • 2). Tap the "Sym" key if you can't find numbers and symbols. The "Symbols" keypad will display and show you the alternate characters for each key.

    • 3). Adjust the "Speed vs. Accuracy" setting in "Advanced Settings" if Swype is too inaccurate. Swype is generally forgiving of inaccuracies when you're entering words --- even if you have to double-back with the glide, Swype can usually figure out what you are trying to communicate, so ignore the "Word Choice" window that appears and give Swype the benefit of the doubt until you get accustomed to using it. You will find that gliding close to the word path usually works. However, set the slider to the right of the "Speed vs. Accuracy" setting to get Swype to look harder for the word you want. However, be aware that Swype will take longer to respond.
