HP Pavilion a650y Specifications
- The Pavilion a650y is a discontinued desktop PC manufactured by Hewlett-Packard. It was a Build-to-Order PC, wherein the consumer could choose from a wide range of components based upon their budget as well as their desired use of the PC. While the computer could be upgraded, it does have a set of standard features.
- The Pavilion a650y is a micro-ATX form-factor desktop PC. Its tower is 15.75 inches high by 7.5 inches wide by 15.75 inches deep. Included with the tower is an HP keyboard, an HP mouse, as well as Harman-Kardon speakers.

Users could choose to replace this unit with other Pentium 4 CPUs including the 3.0-gigahertz model, the 3.2-gigahertz model, and the 3.4-gigahertz model. All of these CPUs posses a one-megabyte L2 cache.
The Pavilion a650y came standard with 512 megabytes of of PC-3200 DDR RAM. Non-standard options for memory include 256 megabytes and one gigabyte. - The Pavilion a650y utilizes an nVidia GeForceFX 5100 graphics card with 64 megabytes of onboard DDR memory. This card also has a TV-Out port. Replacement options for this card include the 128-megabyte nVidia GeForceFX 5200XT, the 256-megabyte nVidia GeForceFX 5500, and the 256-megabyte ATi Radeon 9800.
The Pavilion a650y utilizes an integrated sound card with 5.1 support upgradeable to the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS (See Reference 1). - The Pavilion a650y comes standard with an 80-gigabyte hard drive. This could be replaced with a large number of options, from 200- and 250-gigabyte Ultra DMA drives, to 80-, 160-, and 320-gigabyte RAID drives.
The PC came with a 1.44-megabyte floppy drive. Standard on the PC was a 16X DVD drive as well as an 8X DVD+RW/+R and CD-RW combination drive. These could be swapped with a 48X CD-ROM drive, a 48X HP CD-Writer drive, a 48X CD-RW/DVD-ROM combination drive, and an 8X DVD+RW/+R drive in the place of the first standard drive.
